Being made in God’s image means that we represent who He is. But being His followers also means that we represent Him in a much bigger way. We represent who God is and how God is. Those who don’t follow Him should see these things about Him through our example.
For instance, God is loving, so we should all be loving. We shouldn’t be bullying anyone or making fun of them. We should be caring for them and showing them God’s love. God is good, not evil, so we shouldn’t be planning evil. We shouldn’t love what’s evil (Romans 12:9), but what’s good.
When people see those of us who follow Jesus, they’re seeing an example of what His people are supposed to be like. We’ve always got to be showing the right example. The Bible says when we do good works people will see them and give glory to God because of them (Matthew 5:16). Are you showing people the right things about God?
