Even though we’ve all been created in the image of God, just like Adam and Eve, this has been ruined some by sin. When Adam and Eve chose to sin, they made their perfect relationship with God not-so-perfect anymore. Now, every person that’s come ever since them has needed God’s forgiveness of their sin (through Jesus) just to have a relationship with Him.
You may not think you’ve done anything bad enough to need God’s forgiveness, but the Bible is clear that all of us have sinned and don’t meet up to God’s requirement of perfection (Romans 3:23). It’s also pretty clear that we can be forgiven if we ask (1 John 1:9). We just have to confess (admit that we’ve done wrong) and ask for His forgiveness, and He’ll give it! All followers of Jesus Christ can be forgiven.
What have you done today that you know is wrong? Think about some things and talk to God. Admit to Him that you’ve done those things and even some others you might not realize and ask for His forgiveness.
Today’s memory verse is 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
